Description[]

Margarete Wagner is a young girl living in the 1580s, but deeply feels that she doesn't fit in with the world as she knows it.

Appearances[]

Chapter 2[]

When Eike travels back in time he arrives in 1580 in-between a dispute between Margarete and the Three Maidens. As this escalates they call for the Town Guard. Eike can use either the Lighter or the Cell Phone to scare them off. Margarete introduces herself and invites Eike to her home.

Eike is introduced to the Wagner family and Maragrete goes to check on Wolfgang Wagner. When returning she asks further about the girl EIke is looking for, upon hearing the details of her appearance she becomes jealous. Eike then decides to leave.

Chapter 5[]

Eike returns to the 1582 Era this time in search for an Antidote from the food poisoning he received at the Bar Zum Ei. Eike visits the Wagner household and speaks to Wolfgang Wagner about the Philosopher's Stone. Margarete is surprised that he is still looking for the girl - As two years have passed since their last encounter. She also mentions of her mothers passing. She then walks with Eike through the Marktplatz to catch up, whilst on there walk Eike see's a woman in the distance that resembles Dana. He chases after her but she is nowhere to be found.

Upon returning to the Wagner household, Eike can either mention his theory of Margarete being his ancestor or not (Which has big ramifications to where the story can go!). Beyond this Hugo will intervene and claim to have heard the whole conversation. Margarete then asks about Hugo holding onto a a lock of their mothers hair in a pouch. This offends Hugo who lashes out kicking a chair and yelling at Margarete. He then goes to the basement to visit his father.

Margarete gives Eike a Comb, as a gift to remember the day and as thanks for telling him all the stories of the future.

Eike asks about a Sea-hare Antidote, and it turns out Magarete has it on her shelf, she then gives it to him.

Chapter 8[]

Eike will receive the Philospher's Stone and visit the Wagner Household in order to give Wolfgang Wagner the Philosopher's Stone. After doing so Wolfgang Wagner appears out of the basement to inform Margarete and Hugo of an upcoming dangerous experiment. He asks them both to leave and return in ten days.

Depending on what Eike decides in Chapter 5 in regards to claiming Margarete as his ancestor or not will change the outcome for later Chapters of the game. Further details on Margarete's involvement in later parts of the story can be found at our Chapters & Endings Section.

Sidequest - The Cupcake Sidequest[]

  • Through an optional side quest, Eike can make Margarete the inventor and namesake of a special type of Cake, being a product in Marie's Bakery in 2001 Eike can take it back to the 1580s and give it to Margarete, who enjoys it. This makes it available in 1980, which Eike can bypass the one per customer ruling and give another to Margarete for an additional scene. This leads to her inventing the chocolate at some point in her life, though it is unknown what happens to the chocolate if Eike allows her to stay in 2001, unless she made it before 1584.

Quotes[]

Margarete: "Father’s completely wrapped up in his experiments. I couldn’t even get him to look my way."

Margarete: "You’re still looking? I’m impressed."

Margarete: "It’s okay, but you really are from a different world altogether, aren’t you?"

Margarete: "I was born here, and someday, I shall marry someone, have children, grow old, and die. And it’s all been decided already, hasn’t it? And then my child will have a child, and that child, too, and all the way at the end of that repetition is you."

Margarete: "I’ve had it ever since I was little. It’s strange, when I touch it I see a picture of this man in my head. He’s not anyone I’ve met, he’s much, much older, like my father’s age. I have this sensation like he’s patting me on the head, but it doesn’t feel weird at all. Maybe I shouldn’t have told you that. You must think I’m strange now."

Margarete: "Yes, something to remember today by."

Margarete: "That... isn’t my father!"

Margarete: "This is the future? It’s so bright here. And it’s nighttime. This is really amazing."

Margarete: "It’s such a tall tree. Was it here before?"
